Most engine builders give you a # of laps before freshening. Is there a difference if its 600 laps on a 1/2 or 600 laps on a 1/4.

i think its more the number of accel/decel cycles but laps are easier for people to understand.

I am not one of those guys who belive a 1/2 track is harder on engine than a 3/8 or 1/4 mile. I go by the amount of nights on an engine....and I go by nights completed. If someone only makes one lap or even a few laps...it doesn't count.
Too many engine builders are out there to make money. What better way to make money than to get engines in faster to rebuild.

Whats wrong with making money ? Nobody works for nothing ? Would you keep working on your job if at the end of the week if they didn't pay you ?

1200 to 1400 laps seems to be the average for the engine to get refreshend.
