no one makes a 5" take up spring because it is not legal in IMCA and the majority of the mods are IMCA. that being said if you run somewhere that doesn't check or does allow it just take a 2.5" helperspring kit and retro fit some stuff so it fits with some nylon adapters or something.

its already a 16in spring. and any track weve ran dont have rules against it. i was just seeing if someone made one. tried to rig up a 2.5 one and could find a way. thanks for the info.

How do I not take things that are with me or around me daily, for granted?

i would make a spacer out of aluminum on a lathe and taper it to fit the smaller spring. i dont see why tht wouldnt work

run longer spring

We had slack in our 16" spring and we went to a 13" and it stayed very tight... It compresses so much to hold the car at ride height that when its fully extended it still has tons of pressure...

the spring rate was softer... different brands rate springs a little bit differently. if it was the exact same rate it wouldnt of changed the preload or lack there of
