View Full Version : Radiator ?

I'm trying to run my modified on gas, and not having much luck. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on maybe going from a single pass to a double pass radiator. Already have the good GM 4 blade fan and 1 to 1 pulleys. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

we run a triple pass rad with a 6 blade nylon fan disteeled water and water wetter as long as the nose peice dont fold down we run between 190 and 205

We run gas with a 2 core (not double pass) aluminum radiator, no shroud, the GM 4 blade fan and we turn the fan a bit slower than the crank. We also use plain water and water wetter. We also use a 1" restrictor and we very seldom run over 205-210. Usually around 195-200.

I think if you run double pass, you really need to look at upping the water pump to keep pressure up there.

Clean the radiator by knocking dirt out every couple nights helps more than anything. Forward side against floor, lite drops to knock dirt back through the front. Scary how much is in there.

Watch your motor tune.

I run a 26" radiator, 6 blade fan, no shroud, on gas and runs about 200. We have to keep an eye on the nose to make sure it doesn't get rolled, other wise its starts to pick up some heat. We increased jetting and that helped it too.
