What effect does more or less rear weight have? We have some difference of opinions in our area.

There is no concise answer to your question.
GENERALLY, when you reduce the amount of rear weight, there is less available weight to load your rear tires ("loose"). HOWEVER, that is only a 1 dimensional way of looking at it. JMO- to a degree, the biggest factor affecting handling of the car is the relationship between the VCG of the rear % and the roll center. In other words how high or low the bulk of the rear weight is positioned. That's just the tip of the iceberg. it's a very loaded question.

To give my opinion and put a conclusion on the last post...
It will make the car go forward better on corner exit.
Will the car be tighter or looser on entry to middle depends on a lot of factors.
