Thoughts on building a UMP Factory Stock (DOT tire) out of this car?

I know it's going to be a tank but I'm just looking to have some FUN.

DO not weld cage on to the top of frame or plate. Drill a hole using a hole saw or other means and put the upright tubes down through the frame (preferabbly clear to the bottom of frame.) Weld around top of frame and along the sides and onto the bottom part of the frame.

It won't handle and it won't be fun.

All it will be is a over sized bull dozer.

You would be better off to find a 1975 - 77 Monte Carlo / Chevelle / Buick Regal / Oldsmobile / Pontiac Grand Prix.

Those chassis were more forgiving then the Metric chassis that every one is using today.

That should be a good platform to build from as these cars are the same as a caprice frame. There have been plenty of them shortened to 108" and ran for years. They have better geometry then the metrics with no modifications, they are heavier though.

All this shortening the frame talk makes me a little nervous...

What kind of man hours are we talking?

Is it essential?

Remember I'm talking about the Factory Stock class here not SS.
