View Full Version : rear percentage
how much is too much rear percentage in a latemodel for a dry slick type set up???? thanks for any thoughts or help on this
We have been tring different %.Going from 55% to 53.4% made the car faster at apex but did hurt forward bite.If we can get the forward bite back with bar angles it will be faster everywhere.
thanks for your help RCJ. i think we are going to try something a little bit higher than 55% and see what happens? put the bars and everything else like we would for a heavy track and play with it? any thoughts on that? thanks for your help.

There is no one correct answer for this. If it is a momentum track, you will likely be faster with a lower rear percentage. If it is a stop and go and you are drag racing off the corner, you might like 58%.

i like between 55 and 57 but do prefer the lower end of the spectrum for bite and work on finding my bite in other ways than rear percentage.

I have seen everything from 53% to 58% win races. It is all in the track and what you are trying to do.
