how much different is the rear end set up on the old 69 and 70 chevelles compared to the metric cars that we all use for street stock racing ? arent they basically the same ? could a guy scab the back half of an old chevelle onto an old modified (wich is already on a chevelle frame) and make a street stock out of it ?

Actually not legal by UMP rule book but I don't think you will ever get caught because it's not being checked. A chevelle is a longer wheelbase car and have longer rear trailing arms than a metric. Good Luck!

About 4 inches longer. I think my big car stuff was 22.5 and metric is 19.5 or maybe just 19.
Depends on your rules if you can shorten it or not.
