So the weekly limiteds must weigh same as the super late spec motor and without the larger spoiler ?

why would a all steel not get a 12 inch spoiler and a spec engine has to cut there spoiler to 10 inches, man there is alot of cry babies out there , i guess some of these hot rods have had there azz handed to them to many times lately by the low budget motors with a spoiler.

a 100 lb weight difference between a 900 hp engine, and a 700 hp engine..who`s azz are they kissing?? cant have an open motor getting put on the trailer by a lil motor! wtf! if these were half mile tracks, would this be the rule change? i doubt it..

your right huntinggrip , the weight break is useless very few can take advantage of it anyway. i cant believe boyds or cleveland will go along with this stupid decision knowing its gonna hurt there car count. when 15 or 20 12 inch spoilers stay away they will regret this.

Come to the race and see if the spoiler is the difference . Ray will be running his big motor with an 8 inch spoiler. I say it is driver not spoiler that wins a race.

matdaddy if your the one that drives the 17 car you need to put a driver in it, the spoiler is the only thing that the poor man , local racer has going for him now they are trying to take it away, the hell with any race or series that take the spoilers away. boycott em.

I think it would be better if they allowed a 12" spoiler for the steel motors and 10" for the 525 crates. Seems a little more level playing field

Buster Goss will be driving the 17 car with a RED Spec engine and a 10 inch spoiler. Ray will be running a big motor.,Frank Ingram will be running a big motor with an 8in spoiler. If Ray was not having this race there would be no race to go to locally. Just shut up and drive!!!!!!

I applaud Ray for making these changes! Although I think "big motor" costs are WAY OUT OF HAND, you have to try and level the playing field somehow. Obviously, the easy way is to take part of their Aerodynamic Advantage away. What it comes down to here is that the 12 inch spoiler cars can carry so much more corner speed now, with the setup/shock packages available. If you've been to Boyds lately, all you see up front are the 525 or "spec" motors. This keeps all the other guys away that only have "big" motors. If you guys as fans want to see them both in the same race, then Ray has at least made an HONEST effort at making both competitive. Sure, if you've been stomping butt with one of the cheaper engines, then your going to be upset, but thats life as we know it I guess.

Very well put... lets put um together and see what we get. I think they will be even at boyds, not sure about cleveland. This should be a GOOD weekend of racing.

I agree. Several top "spec" motor guys have openly admitted the 12 inch spoiler is just too much of an advantage. I think Ray's rule package is more than fair. 10 inch spoiler for the steel motors & 8 inch with a weight break for the 525 guys. Good call!

Kirk, you are absolutely correct. At North Georgia last weekend for the V.R.S., I was told by several drivers that the reason they don't run Boyd's for the bigger shows was because of the BIG advantage the "spec" cars have. I also look for the series that come to this area to look really hard to see how this goes to even up the "playing field."

12" spoiler is to big of an advantage. It's all about downforce. TST went to 8" spoilers for everyone 2 years ago and Spec motors still win probably over 90% of the SLM races.
