Gary Christian Makes Trek To Cotton Pickin’ 100

Broken Bow, OK (10/27/10) – Gary Christian will make the long tow to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) this weekend in his #58x Pannell Chipping/LCM Cedar Fiber/GRT/Pro Power Super Late Model for the 7th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100.

The 2010 edition of the Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 will mark his third attempt at making the starting grid for the $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start event.(not a nice word)In 2008, he qualified for the event in his first ever attempt, but fell short of making the starting grid in 2009.(not a nice word)The weekend gets underway with an Open Practice Session on Thursday night before the action intensifies on Friday with group qualifying and heat race action.(not a nice word)Saturday night will see consolation events and the 100 lap finale.(not a nice word)More information on the event can be found at www.MagnoliaMotorSpeedway.net .

A trip to northeast Oklahoma made up last weekend’s plans for Pannell Motorsports and Gary Christian as the team invaded Mid America Speedway (South Coffeyville, Oklahoma) for the Lucas Oil MLRA sanctioned, Bud Purkey Memorial. Twenty-eight Super Late Models entered the event, and in heat race action on Friday night, Gary finished in the sixth slot, which left him short of transferring to the feature. As a result, he was forced to run a b-main event, which was slated for Saturday evening. However, the Saturday portion of the event would be forced to be postponed to Sunday due to a power outage. On Sunday, Christian would win the b-main from the pole position to transfer to the 17th starting spot for the $6,000 to win main event. In the feature, Gary would only be able to advance one spot as he recorded a 16th place in the final running order. Full results are available at www.MLRARacing.com .

Gary and everyone at Christian Motorsports would like to thank all of their sponsors, which include Pannell Chipping, Team 5 Enterprise, X-treme Graphics By J-Rod, LCM Cedar Fiber, MSRMafia.com, Smith Equipment, Integra Racing Shocks, Out-Pace Racing Products, and Fast Shafts.
