I just finished building my circle track motor and am very curious where I stand in terms of HP and torque at the flywheel.

360 ci
Eagle cast crank
forged rods (can't remember what brand)
JE forged flat top pistons
Vortec 062 heads angle milled 2* w/ 5 angle valve job 2.02 valves (no port work)
Super Victor Intake untouched.
750 Alky Carb by Holley
MSD ignition
Running on Methanol
.480 lift custom Comp Cams grind mechanical flat tappet cam
Full Roller Aluminum Rockers
solid lifters Comp

I know the crank is the weakness of this motor but it's what I had at the time of the build. This will turn into my backup motor when I can afford something nicer after Xmas.

Thanks for any answers.

How much did you have taken off the heads? Did you cc the chambers when you were done? If yes what are they? Do you know your compression ratio?

I'm guessing w/ 2 degree angle mill I would have 50cc heads but I could be wrong. JE flat tops are somewhere around 10.6:1 w/ a 64cc head w/ a not so thick head gaskets (not sure of thickness but not the thinnest and not the thickest).

I'm guessing
490 HP @ 6400, 470 ft lbs @ 5200

I once had a similar engine, Eagle rotating assembly, 40 something CC angle cut Vortecs w/1.94 valves, flat tops, hydraulic cam, with aluminum intake(602 crate intake), made 430hp.

I would put you in the mid 400 range.

That engine would fit the rules at a track in oklahoma I've raced at.On gas it should be in the 470 to 500 range.Alky only added 20hp.

360 C.I. unported vortecs and a low lift hyd. cam depending on the cam and how the engine is tuned, 450 - 470 HP /430 - 450 TQ on meth. No mention of LC/ Dur. @.020 or .050. Maybe a lot of cylinder pressure, maybe a resticted cam.
383's with nice mech. cams and 13.5-1 comp. make 520ish with these heads depending..........
But , you should be smoother in the slick with your combination than a 383.
Vortec heads like to come in hard in midrange. Dont know what class youre running, but with this combo, the midrange will get your attention for sure.
Good luck

Outlaw, Tri-State, Salina, and West Siloam allow these motors. The BMS boys are a hair over 500 w/ Meth.

Yeah thats where I raced at.I don't race in that class anymore. The place that helps me charges $400 for dynoing your motor.Once your motor is on the dyno they will try anything you want.I had my motor on for aweek pulled it off the dyno put a street motor, put mine back on and pulled some more.

how bout this setup with a 520 256 @50 cam 11.5:1 with a performer rpm airgap intake on gas?

Those numbers might work for the lift, but I think we may have a problem trying to get any cylinder pressure when it comes to those duration numbers :) just kiddin with ya... what is the duration at .050?

think its 252/256 @ 50
