I run on a 3/8 mile track with an 83 cutlass purestock. Here are the vital stats. Springs-lf900, rf1100, lr200, rr175. Shocks-lf6, rf7-3, lr3-5, rr3-5. Tires size- lf255, rf275, lr275, rr275. Weight % left 53, rear 49.8, cross 49.5. In the main this car was loose from middle out. Went in good but got loose as soon as throttle was applied. By the info provided can anyone tell why I was loose, and what can I do to tighten things up. Also wheel offsets were 3off on left side and 2off on right side..Thanks for any info.

Increase rear %, LR shock 5-3 or 6-2, RR Shock 3-3 or 4-4, Increase LR spring 25-50lbs, Decrease stagger in rear tires, Push RF out or Suck RR in and/or push LR out, Do one change at a time and see how it works, you should see the difference and be able to dial the car in much easier instead of constantly chasing your tail!......What is the difference in weight between LR and RR (ie: Bite)?..Key!

Don't make drastic w/ changes. Try 1 thing at a time until you get it where you want it. I would stiffen LR spring to start off or reduce rear stagger a 1/2". You could even play w/ air pressure. Just depends on what you can get away w/ or what feels right for you. Start off w/ maybe a reduction in stagger, if not possible then stiffen rr by either upping spring rate 25-50 lbs or insterting a rubber. After that you can play w/ the others. Normally if your getting in good through center and losing it just off exit then you are 90% where you want to be. Exit is the most important part from entry through center to exit but it means nothing if not for a good entry through center.

go up on lr spring 225, cross weight up to 52%, rear up as much as you can get rr shock straight 3or 4 valve according to track

Before any adjustments are made, make sure he rear end is setting perpendicular to the center line of the chassis. Without the rear end setting where it should be adjustments will not work properly and you could always be chasing your tail. Set the car on jack stands find the center line of he car make sure the rear end is at a 90degree angle to the center line if not adjust it to center. Then proceed with your changes, one at a time, and record what you do and keep good notes.

Your rear at 49% has a lot to do with loose off, You need to be @53 or better.

75 percent of problems cornering are a byproduct of front end issues. you get the front to do exactly what you want this will help the back follow. Also try a little different throttle rythem, that may help.
