CARTERSVILLE, GA – Magnolia Motor Speedway officials have moved this weekend’s Possum Town Grand Prix events at the Columbus, MS track back one day, and they will now be run on Saturday and Sunday, with practice now set for Friday night. The change was made due to a weather forecast calling for rain and cold temperatures.
The 6th Annual NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Invitational Championship Race will now be held on Saturday. This $1,000-to-win 30-lap event is an invitation-only event for NeSmith Chevrolet Top 10 Regional drivers and the Top 10 drivers at each NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned track.
A complete list of the 160 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series drivers invited to participate in the 6th Annual NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Invitational Championship Race is available on the series web site at www.nesmithracing.com.
The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour will be in action on Sunday at Magnolia Motor Speedway with the final points race of the 2010 season. The $2,500-to-win 40-lap event is open to all drivers. The 2010 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Model Series National Champion and the VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year will be crowned at this race.
Magnolia Motor Speedway will host an open practice session on Friday night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The gates on both Saturday and Sunday will open at 11 a.m. with NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Drivers Meeting each day will be at 1 p.m. with racing to follow.
In both the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Invitational Championship Race on Saturday and the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring event on Sunday at Magnolia Motor Speedway, drivers will compete in Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Main Races, and the Feature Races.
