What is the best way to check front lowers to make sure there in the right location,do you square them off the motor plate by measuring to the center of the ball joint?

What do you mean by "right location"?

I replaced the bar in the front that the struts bolt to on the front,it's a rayburn with one piece lowers. I know you can move the lowers forward and backward by screwing the hiem in and out on the end of the strut so i just want to make sure i get them set in the chassis correctly. Is this done when you set the caster?
