I think there is more to it than drop it in. Bore centers are different,4.173 for the 2.3 OHC to 4.080 for the 1.9 HSC engine for most referances but I did find a couple that puts the bore spacing at 3.614. Either way that is different

Journal sizes are different 2.3- 2.398 1.9 is 2.282 mains and Rod lenght vs Stroke does not work out right to match 2.3 piston to deck height and would need a pin location change . If I did the math rightThe escort Crank/Rod and 2.3 piston would be out the top of the block .1570. Did not bother to waste too much time on this but if there is someone here that knows both the HSC and OHC maybe they can use the referances they have to see if this is possible. It would get you about 2.6L in displacement at .020 over.

Cannot not see how it is possible, bore spacing is wrong. If it was possible I am sure it would have turned up on this board a long time ago and would be common knowledge. I only find the 1.9 cvh which is 3.614 bore spacing.

for the right amount of money it can be done, but that is casting your own block...as far as using the stock Ford components,no it cant be done...besides,who would want to invest thousands into R&D doing this when you can just buy a stroker crank.

here is a cool site that has the majority of bore, bore spacing, stroke, etc for just about any engine in the world.
