I have a ford 9 inch with coleman snouts on it, it has wide 5 axles in it. Couldn't I use GN axles in this. The only difference I can see is the GN axles are bigger at the end for a seal. Thanks.

I don't see why not.

You will need to run the wide five axle because where the step in the GN for the seal is will hit the snout .

Hammond is right, the axles will slide in and you think they're fine but as we found out, the friction of them rubbing together took half a lap for the axle to weld itself to the snout! Then you have to cut the snout off and have the rearend fixed and junk your axle.

Thanks guys, you are correct. My brother checked the clearance and it's really close. I'll use the wide 5 axles.

Moser Engineering takes their lifetime guaranteed axles and turn the ends to fit the coleman snouts. I don't see why your local machine shop couldn't do that for you. From the 2 sets I have bought they appear to machine grind them to fit.
