Start here:

Get yourself a book like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Dirt-Late-Model-Chassis-Technology/dp/0936834986/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294241271&sr=8-1
It's a little dated but still full of useful information.
Go to a chassis seminar.

Look up Mark Bush or "Race Wise" and attend a class. Mark has a seminar and a book that I refer to as The Dirt Track Bible.

The class is cheap compared to what you learn. Take lots of notes and ask lots of questions. It was the best money I have ever spent on racing. Come prepared to learn, as the class moves quickly and covers a lot of information.

I'll second attending one of Mark Bush's "Race Wise" seminars. Be prepared for lots of really good info in a short period of time.
