t 5 transmission swap

Can I put 5.0 t5 transmission into my 2.3 car? I'm interested in 1.99 ratio.

Pinto trans comes in 199.A lot less weight too.

Yes, you just have to change the input shaft with a 4 cyl T5 shaft.

The input shafts are different length and the pilot diameter is different too. If you swap input shafts make sure they both have the same number of teeth, both on the gear and on the synchronizer.

Aren't the V8 T5's about triple the price of a 4 cyl T5 though?

Same except for lenght and pilot. This was just the standard T-5's not sure about the higher end ones though. I sold a couple of my 4 cyl T-5's to a 5.0 guy that liked the ratios better and it held up behind the mild built V-8 for years.
