There has never been any doubt the FASTRAK Racing Series is the original crate late model series in the business and that the point fund of FASTRAK is the single largest point fund in the world for grass roots racing. FASTRAK has now 'tweaked' the City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship that pays a handsome $10k to win and through the top 50 teams in the country.

As the series continues to expand across the continent and now Canada, some minor adjustments have been made to keep ALL local teams in the championship points battle.

FASTRAK management has made the final decision to 'tweak' the City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship beginning with the 2011 season. The minor changes should make the championship more competitive for teams with smaller budgets and give them a real opportunity to take home the $10,000 1st place prize. "The point system itself has been great" stated Stan Lester of FASTRAK. "Anytime you put a new system in place and its been tied all three years since inception, that means somethings working. However we did think we needed to tweak it a bit just to keep more teams involved. This will help our smaller budget teams and thats something we always need to do."

The only difference will be that teams will get to count their best 2 finishes of any given week during the racing season. "Some teams have 3 nights of racing, some have 2" said Jason Atkins of FASTRAK. "The teams that don;t have 3 nights will have an equal opportunity along with the teams that do. Some teams simply can't afford to race three nights a week so this will make the system more consistant and increase the opportunity for those teams. We have to keep our smaller budgeted teams in mind all the time. This is the orginal concept of FASTRAK and one we will continue to maintain".
