2011 UFo Schedule Tops Out with over $450,000 of REAL Cash Prizes and Increased Payoffs!

(MARS PA) – The UFo Race Championship 2011 schedule . To date, 9 supertracks will present 23 race dates including 20 point races and 3 non-point tune-up events. Based on those events, the total payoffs including points bonus will reach in excess of $450,000 for the 2011 season. All UFo events for 2011 feature increased payoffs for the race teams.

Hesston Speedway has added a 3rd UFo date for the upcoming season. The “Sonny and Peggy Eriksen PA Grand Prix” on Saturday, August 6 will be Hesston Speedway’s 50th anniversary celebration. The event will pay $4,000 to win for the UFo Super Late Models. UFo-participating track Thunder Valley Raceway will present the 3-State Flyers “Laurel Highlands Classic” on Friday, August 5. This will form a strong, 2-race weekend in the region for Super Late Model teams with $35,000 in cash payoffs.

Hesston Speedway was opened in 1961 by Sonny and Peggy Eriksen. The track was originally built as a 3/8 mile and enlarged to its current 4/10 mile configuration in 1967. The Eriksens promoted the track for 18 seasons featuring a Sunday night program as it was a prime night to attract higher car counts. Hesston will feature 3 Super Late Model Sunday night events in 2011.

The track sat idle from the late 70’s until 1993. After 2 changes in ownership, the track was repurchased by the Eriksen’s son Dave in 2008. Under his ownership, Dave Eriksen has made track and infrastructure improvements each year as he works to make Hesston Speedway a showplace of clay track racing for the region. 2011 improvements include a relocated outer pit area, increased spectator parking and improved track banking.

The UFo Race Championship will offer the highest total cash payoffs for a Super Late Model tour in the region. The total cash payoffs including the year-end point-bonus top $450,000. This is a realistic amount based off the 23 race schedule and an average count of 34, which was the 2010 average car count. This amount does not include the massive payoff of the “Black Diamond” at the Tyler County Speedway on Saturday, September 3.

The 2011 improved UFo payoff structure will show increases in the most critical positions in regards to strengthening Super Late Model racing in the region and keeping more race teams on the track. Feature start money for each payoff structure AND tow money have been increased at each event for the upcoming season. This increase deep into the payoff will make it worthwhile for more race teams to attend UFo events and drive great car counts for the fans. The UFo fan-friendly race format has generated strong fan counts at events, which has allowed these payoff increases to occur. The UFo formula continues to be a win-win situation for both race teams and race fans.

The feature start money has been increased for each payoff structure, with $300 to start a $3,000 to win feature, $350 to start a $4,000 to win feature and $400 to start a $5,000 to win feature. Each race team that attends a UFo event and makes 1 lap on the track is guaranteed at least $150 at each point event this season. With no entry fees being deducted from driver winnings, this appears to be the highest tow money offered by any Super Late Model series.

UFo Race Championship events feature NO entry fees for features with payoffs under $35,000, and NO tour membership fees. This also translates into higher net payoffs for the drivers at each event for ALL race teams. The elimination of entry fees saved race teams that attended UFo events over $25,000 in 2010, and is estimated to save race teams over $35,000 in 2011!

The base UFo 2011 Payoffs are as follows. Tracks may add additional payoff to any position. Events such as “The Pittsburgher,” “Yankee Doodle” and “WV State Championship” will feature even higher payoffs.
