Fixing to build a new aluminum body for a mustang mini-stock (stock 4 class). Was wondering what guage aluminum you guys are using? Been told .040 and .070 . Want it to be light but, want it to be durable to take on some rubbin. Thanks for your input.

I believe most of the body suppliers are selling aluminum sheets that are 0.040" thick. Just checked Performance Bodies and that is what they are offering. I imagine 0.070" (being nearly twice as thick) is a little bit harder to work with if you don't have a good set of sheet metal tools.

.040 is what Late Models and Modifieds use..
