Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Sanction the 8th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals in 2011






Waycross, GA (February 17, 2011) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is excited to announce an agreement has been reached to sanction the 8th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa on September 29, 30th and October 1st. This year's Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals will pay out a total purse of over $260,000 making it the richest paying dirt late model event in 2011. With this mega event added to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule, the series now has a record 3.2 million dollars in prize monies up for grabs in 2011.



This will be the first year the event has been sanctioned by the series and will consist of the same great fan friendly format of years past. There will be two nights of qualifying events paying $7,000 to win on Thursday and Friday and then the big $40,000 to win finale on Saturday October 1st. This event will also be filmed and broadcasted on SPEED, adding another valuable TV race to the series schedule.

Adding this crown jewel event to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule gives the series another big purse event to the schedule for 2011 including the Dart Show-Me 100 paying $30,000 to win, Sunoco North/South 100 paying $50,000 to win, Comp Cams Topless 100 paying $40,000 to win, Hillbilly 100 paying $43,000 to win, Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals paying $40,000 to win and the season finale the Appliancezone.com Dirt Track World Championship presented by Lucas Oil paying $50,000 to win.

By adding this event to the schedule the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will end the season in 2011 with the $40,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals on October 1st, then a pair of $10,000 to win shows - the Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout and Rome Rumble on October 8th and 9th and the series season finale - the $50,000 to win Appliancezone.com Dirt Track World Championship presented by Lucas Oil on October 14-15th, all in a span of 14 days.
