Jay Cardy Scores Runner-Up Finish at Albany
Noranda, Western Australia (02/20/11) – Jay Cardy continued his strong 2011 season behind the wheel of his #52J Cardy Chassis/Draime Racing Engine Super Late Model as he recorded a second place finish in PRO Late Model action at Albany Speedway (Albany, Western Australia) in Saturday night.
On Saturday night, February 19th the team traveled to Albany, Western Australia, for Round #11 of the Pro Dirt Series at Albany Speedway. With twenty cars were in the pits and moments before hot laps were scheduled to begin, heavy rain began to fall. However, this did not bother track officials as they waited for the heavy showers to stop before repacking the track. The rain drizzled throughout the night keeping the dust down and moisture in the track.
Jay started at the back of the first heat and finished 6th. He started 2nd in the second heat and ran 2nd. He went on to win the dash, so in the feature he started 7th. During the course of the event he would race his way to a solid 2nd place finish, which was his best of 2011. Overall it was a great event for the team and with the next event being the Western Australia State Title race at Collie Speedway (Collie, Western Australia) on March 12th, Jay is confident about his chances to claim the big win.
