When running a 16 volt battery. What alternator do I need to use?
Can I use a 12 volt or do I need to get a 16V.

Whats the pro and cons of the 16V vs the 12V?

Thanks

If you want to run an alternator you need a 16 volt unit to charge the battery. The con's are you need to switch out charging system & you need to make sure that all your electrical toys on board can handle 16 volts. The pro's the MSD boxes love the jump to 16 volts. Now if you want to take things to the next level above the 16 volt setup and want to leave Nothing on the table consider moving the MSD box up to 20 volts using a Maxpwr20 Voltage Regulator. The increase makes the MSD boxes even more effective ( Quicker Triggering ) The Pro's no need to swap out your 12 volt system, MSD runs better, Allows you to access the additional performance your engine builder gave you, We have seen an avg. 5 to 9 HP improvement with this change on customers rides. The con's the boxes last 4 to 5 years rather than 6 to 7 years. If you have any questions give me a call and we can talk about your program. I hope this helps you out.
