Lake Cumberland Speedway Test and Tune on March 12 Cancelled; Practice March 19; First Race Now March 26

Burnside, KY-March 11, 2011- Heavy rains over the course of Wednesday and Thursday have drenched the grounds at Lake Cumberland Speedway, forcing track promoter Brandon Hardgrove to cancel the scheduled test and tune open practice for Saturday March 12.

However, a practice day will still take place, as the season opener will be delayed one week and the test and tune open practice will now take place on Saturday March 19, as the 2011 season opening event will now be pushed back to March 26.

Activities for the March 19 test and tune session will see the pit area open at Noon, with practice laps set to begin at 1:00 p.m. and concluding at 6:00 p.m. Admission to the general admission area will be free to all patrons, while a pit pass for the test and tune will cost $10.

Following the test and tune day on March 19, the first official green flag of the 2011 season is now set to fly on Saturday March 26 with a full program of racing competition for Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Dirt Stocks, Pure Street, Front Wheel Drives, and Open Four Cylinders, with Super Late Models allowed to practice. On April 2, the same divisions will again be in action, along with the Super Late Model division in competition for the first time in 2011.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just off of KY Hwy. 27, south of Burnside, KY. For more information concerning all activities at Lake Cumberland Speedway, visit the track’s webpage at www.lcspeedway.net or phone the track office at (606) 561-8994.

It is apparent that the track management has, sided with the High Dollar race teams to eliminate competition from the under-funded and casual racer.
The next thing that happens, and mark my word is, you will start making the less fortunate racers pay your inflated entry fee's and, purchase their own hot dogs.

A real promoter would, #1 provide paddle tires for the practice session. #2 outfit track personnel and race teams with OSHA approved rain slickers. #3 Bring in Hooters girls to console drivers who are struggling with their set-up.

........in my best Gomer Pyle impression..............Shame!
