Scott Creel Has Strong Runs in Georgia; Columbus Up Next

Franklinton, Louisiana (03/15/11) –Scott Creel was finally able to overcome the wrath of Mother Nature as he opened his 2011 season in his #31 Voodoo Motorsports/Creel Brothers/Bloomquist/Pro Power Super Late Model over the weekend with the rescheduled Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Georgia)

After seeing the first three events that he tried to enter in 2011 rained out, Scott finally was able to get things underway on Friday night as he entered the opening of the Super Bowl of Racing, which posted a $10,000 to prize. A talented field of 24 Super Late Models entered the event, and in heat race action, Scott finished fourth to earn the 16th starting spot for the 50 lap feature. In the feature, he would slowly work his way through the pack before registering a 10th place finish at the checkered flag.

It was back to business on Saturday night for Scott Creel as he entered the second night of the Super Bowl of Racing as once again a $10,000 winner's purse was on the line. With 24 cars on hand, Scott raced to a second place finish in his heat race to earn the fifth starting spot for the 50 lap feature. Early in the feature event, Creel would bolt to the second position as he began to challenge Bub McCool for the top spot. However, as the race wore on Creel's tires began to go away on him, and Scott would begin to slip backwards through the pack as he finished in the 11th position in the final rundown. Despite not getting the finish that he wanted, Creel is extremely encouraged by the possibilities that his new Bloomquist car present to him, and he is looking for a big season in 2011.
