I have all the eagle internals for a 383 (in a cracked block now) and all I seem to find are 2 bolt 010 blocks in my area. Want to swap my stuff into a fresh block. Will a 2 bolt main hold up (as a 383), or should I keep searching for a 4 bolt? I dont plan on turning much over 7K. Thanks for any info.

That will be fine. I sell all the 4 bolts I end up with to guys with trucks and hot rods as they think they need a 4 bolt, lol... Usually get enough to buy two more motors and hope for a 2 bolt to keep.

For once I agree with Jeff. I have run the 2 bolt blocks up to and over 500 hp and have not had one fail.
I also buy every 2 bolt block I can find and put splayed main caps for my high RPM and HP engines.

Thanks for the replies, I used the 2 bolts as 355's in the past with no probs, just wanted to avoid building myself a grenade!

I buy all the 2 bolts I can as well because everyone in my area thinks you have to have a 4 bolt. Only cost a few hundred $$$ to put splayed caps on and they are better than the 4 bolt.
The 360 we had in our open mod and first year of late model was a 2 bolt with a factory cast GM crank. We turned it 7500 for a year and a half with no problem. I change dto a 406 and sold it to a guy for a stock car and it ran 2 more seasons. I ended up buying it back and was going to freshened it up for resale....but some idiot broke into my shop and stole the rotating assembly. I put a stock assembly in it and it is running in a 68 vette now.
