During the offseason, FASTRAK series officials did extensive research into the economy and the series itself in an effort to find ways to help FASTRAK teams deal with the rising costs of fuel and travel. That research led series officials to restructure the Grand Nationals to reward EVERYONE that participated. In addition, the FASTRAK Racing Series is pleased to announce an increase in the start money for all Southeast Touring Events as well.

“Our teams want to race”, stated FASTRAK Director of Operations Jason Atkins. “We spoke to countless sponsors, tracks, racers, and fans in an effort to improve our program. In years past our $2000 to win touring events paid $200 to start, the $3000 to win events paid $225 to start, and our $5000 to win events paid $250 to start”. We realize there are fuel and travel expenses that ALL teams have to incur regardless of where you finish in the race. In a lot of cases, it is simply a matter of economics. Therefore, we have raised the start money an additional $50 for these events and while $50 may not seem a lot to some people, that extra money will surely help our teams pay their fuel bill. Again, its just a small way that we can give back to them for supporting FASTRAK”.

“Jason and I have worked very hard in an effort to find ways to give back”, stated CEO & Founder Stan Lester. “We have increased and enhanced our partnership programs for member tracks, we have restructured our Grand National Championship so that EVERY team that participates is rewarded, and now we are increasing the start money for our Southeast touring races in order to combat the rising costs of fuel”. “While we can’t control fuel costs, we can surely continue to look for ways to help our member tracks and teams”.

The support for the first touring race of 2011 was tremendous as 40 teams participated in the 3rd Annual Modoc 100. The next southeast touring event is scheduled for April 23rd, giving teams an opportunity to support their local FASTRAK member tracks and gain those valuable City Chevrolet National Weekly points which begin on April 1st.
