With the racing season now underway, racers are beginning to accumulate their 12 races needed for Grand National Eligibility. In addition, many teams are preparing for their respective touring series as well. The City Chevrolet national Weekly Championship is quickly becoming the next target for FASTRAK members across the nation. With all of these lucrative point funds available, we remind each and every one of you to solidify your FASTRAK membership as soon as possible.
Since its inception, the battle for the National Weekly Championship has always been highly contested. This year’s National Weekly title run begins on April 1st. As in years past teams will be evaluated on their best 15 finishes. In order to provide the proper balance between regions and racers across the nation, FASTRAK will allow each team to submit its best 2 finishes per week to be counted towards the 2011 National Weekly Championship. This year’s competition should be no different as many more teams continue to see the rewards for supporting their weekly sanctioned FASTRAK tracks. “The weekly tracks are the heart and soul of our organization”, stated Director of Operations Jason Atkins. “Weekly racing always has been, and always will be, the core of our series. We are also fortunate enough to be able to offer a touring series for our teams that like to travel and race at a variety of venues. I feel that it is important to have a diverse program that rewards both loyalty and performance. The combination of our National Weekly Championship and Regional Touring Series gives our teams a variety of options and opportunities.”
The 2011 FASTRAK Grand Nationals could be the most exciting dirt late model championship in history. Never before has a grass roots series, or possibly any racing series, guaranteed that every participating team receive $500. “To my knowledge, every point fund has a cutoff or a limit to how many teams it will pay”, explained CEO Stan Lester. “We wanted to be the first to offer a point fund that paid to infinity! Whether we have 40 teams, 100 teams, or 400 teams, we have created a program that allows us to guarantee ALL of them at least $500. It is without a doubt one of the most exciting programs that we have ever created and I glad to be able to offer it to our members”.
