UFo Race Championship 2011 Base Point Bonus Fund Increases 25% WITHOUT the Use of Driver Fees!
(Mars, PA) – The Unified Force Race Championship has announced the base 2011 point bonus fund. With the strong support of American Racer/Lias Tire, Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic/Precise Racing and Townsend Gas & Oil/VP Fuel Distributor, a significant bonus will be possible for the top finishing drivers on the tour. The tour will kick off on Saturday, April 9 at the Tyler County Speedway with the $4,000 to win “Topless 51.”
The total base UFo point bonus will be almost $22,000 in real cash, representing a 25% increase over the 2010 point bonus. The 2011 UFo Race Champion is scheduled to receive an Area-$5,100 base point bonus. Additionally, the Champion will receive a $1,000 credit good toward a new Rocket Chassis. The bonus fund will be distributed among the top 10 drivers in the final point standings.

• The base amount of the point bonus will be paid if 17 point events are completed in 2011 and all tracks and sponsors fulfill their financial commitments. The current 2011 schedule has 19 point events at 8 supertracks. The $2,000 to win events not considered point events. The bonus fund will be pro-rated if less than 17 point events are completed. If more than 17 point events are completed, additional funds will be added.
• This significant point bonus fund will be paid without the use of driver-funded fees due to the contributions of Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic/Precise Racing, American Racer/Lias Tire and Townsend Gas & Oil/VP Fuel Distributor. UFo tracks do not charge car entry fees on events with feature payoff under $35,000 and UFo does not have a driver membership fee.
• All drivers that attend the full tour will save $1,050 each in car entry fees and membership fees in comparison to similar events with those fees!
• Overall, drivers attending UFo events in 2011 will save over $35,000 in total due to the elimination of these fees!
• The $22,000 point bonus and $35,000 fee savings will keep over $57,000 in the hands of the race teams in 2011!
• The UFo point bonus is distributed as soon as possible after the completion of the season, after all sponsor and track contributions are assembled. This has typically been a late October/early November date. Each track is responsible for its portion of the point bonus payment, but historically all tracks have combined funds for one payment to the drivers.

The “Topless 51” at Tyler County Speedway will kick of the 2011 UFo tour. This event will feature an Area-51 lap UFo Super Late Model championship paying $4,000 to win, $350 to start, and $150 to all non-qualifiers that complete a lap on the track. No car entry fees will be charged to the Super Late Model drivers to compete in this event. The FASTRAK pro-Late Models, TSMA E-mods, TSMA Hot Mods, Mod-Lites, Eco-Flyer 4-cylinders and junior-age Mini-Wedges will also be on the racing program.
The UFo Super Late Models will run without roofs at this event. Race teams are permitted and recommended to seal off the top of the roll cage halo with sheet metal. Standard UFo/Tyler County car rules apply. GM 602 and 604 crate motor cars will not be permitted to compete with the Super Late Models since Tyler offers a separate class for those cars.
General Admission will be $18 with Pits Admission of $33 for the UFo “Topless 51.” Fans arriving between 4:30 and 5:30 PM will receive a $2 discount at general admission. Gates are scheduled to open at 4:30 with warm-ups at 6:30 and racing at 7:00 PM. The rain date for the UFo “Topless 51” is Saturday, April 16.

Chad McClellan of Stoystown PA is the 2010 UFo Race Champion, winning one of the closest point battles ever. Keith Barbara finished just 1 point behind McClellan to take 2nd in the standings. Mollick finished 3rd, with Danny Mitchell of Clarksburg, WV in 4th and Tommy Beck from Jeanette, PA. Jared Miley of South Park, Pa, Jared Hawkins from Fairmont, WV, Doug Horton of Bruceton Mills, WV, Jim Stephans of Baldwin, PA and John Flinner of Zelienople, PA rounded out the top 10. Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, PA was the 2008 and 2009 UFo Race Champion.
