Lake Cumberland Speedway Too Wet for April 2; Season Opener Reset for April 9

Burnside, KY-April 2, 2011- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove continues not to be able to get cooperation from Mother Nature once again as the 2011 season opener that was set for April 2 has been cancelled due to wet conditions from already wet grounds and more rain that fell late Friday evening and into early Saturday morning.

The season opening event at Lake Cumberland Speedway is now set to take place on Saturday April 9 and will consist of a full program of racing competition that will feature Super Late Models, Modifieds, Super Dirt Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, and Open Four Cylinders.

Activities for the April 9 event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with practice laps set to start at 6:00 p.m., followed by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the April 9 event in the general admission area will be $12, with children ages 10 and under admitted free, with a pit pass being $30.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road just south of General Burnside Island State Park, just south of Burnside, KY. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing on Saturday evenings from March to October.
