Jay Cardy Records Runner-Up Finish at Perth Motorplex
Noranda, Western Australia (04/05/11) – Jay Cardy returned to the driver's seat of his #52J Cardy Chassis/Draime Racing Engine Super Late Model on Saturday night as he worked his way to a second place finish in Pro Dirt Series action at Perth Motorplex (Kwinana Beach, Western Australia).
Jay was back behind the wheel of his Super Late Model on Saturday night at Perth Motorplex (Kwinana Beach, Western Australia) for the penultimate round of the Kwinana Track Championship, the Silver Cup. Jay started the first heat race in 6th and finished 4th. For the second heat race, he started in the 11th position and advanced to a 3rd place finish.
Via his heat race performances, Cardy was the fourth highest in points, and as a result he started the main event in the fourth position. At the drop of the green flag, Jay got the jump on the field and raced to the lead in the first corner. He would go on to lead all but the last four laps after getting caught behind lapped traffic late in the race, which allowed the second place car to slip by for the top spot. Jay would go on to finish in the second position.
After the race Jay commented, "We had a great car all night and it was disappointing to not go home with the win in the feature."
Jay is currently 4th in the Motorplex Track Championship standings with only one event remaining, which is the Gold Cup on April 16th at Perth Motorplex (Kwinana Beach, Western Australia).
