Disappointing Finish for Bub McCool in Texas; Brownstown Next

Vicksburg, MS (04/05/11) – After racing in the top five for the duration of the Lucas Oil, Texas event in his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)ens Racing Engine Super Late Model Bub McCool saw his hopes of a top five run dashed late in the event.

The team traveled to Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) over the weekend for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event. Forty-eight Super Late Models entered the event, and on Friday night, Bub raced to a second place finish in his heat race to lock into the seventh starting spot in Saturday night's 100 lap, $20,000 to win feature.

On Saturday night an abrasive track would greet the competitor, and early in the event, Bub would get as high as the second position as he battled Shannon Babb for the lead. However, as the race wore on Bub would battle the setup on his entry and fading tires as he slipped backwards to the fifth position. He looked to be on his way to a top five finish before a flat tire sidelined him with just nine laps to go relegating him to a 16th place finish at the checkered flag. Bub is currently tied for 11th in the latest tour standings. Full results are available at www.LucasDirt.com .

This weekend, he will travel to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) for the 14th Annual Ice Breaker, which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The event, which was postponed by Mother Nature from its original date in late March, will pay $10,000 to win.
