The 2011 racing season at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will kick off on Saturday, April 9th as we present the 2011 Blastoff Action Event featuring the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models, Brougher's Machine Shop FASTRAK/Pro-Lates, Miley Truck and RV Rental DIRTcar UMP E-Mods, Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTCar Cadets, Miley BP Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stocks and Imperial Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns.

"Mother Nature was not very cooperative in our attempts at getting in a practice session; we attempted it three times and the weather was victorious each time," commented track owner Matt Miley. "Hopefully sunshine and warmer temperatures will greet the race teams and the fans this Saturday."

The quest for the 2011 PPMS Points Titles will get underway this weekend as Mike Johnson (Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models), Mark Moats, Jr., (Brougher's Machine Shop FASTRAK/Pro-Lates), Daryl Charlier (Miley Truck and RV Rental DIRTcar UMP E-Mods), Jake Simmons (Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTCar Cadets) and Danny White (Imperial Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns) are expected to be in action to begin defense of their 2010 titles. At the annual awards banquet last month Brian Huchko, the 2010 Miley BP Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stock Champion, indicated he would be moving to either the E-Mod or Cadet Division leaving the door open for a new Hobby Stock champion in 2011.

The Action Event scheduled for the following week on Saturday, April 16th will showcase the Hobby Stock and Young Guns Spring Trophy Championships in addition to a complete program for the Super Late Models, Pro-Lates, E-Mods and Cadets.
