Billy Moyer Jr. to Return to the Scene of the Crime this Weekend
Batesville, Arkansas (04/06/11) – A year ago Billy Moyer Jr. swept the opening weekend of the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) tour in his #21jr Henderson Motorsports/Car City/Imperial Motors/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Bullock Racing Engine Super Late Model, and this weekend he will look to repeat history as he returns to Beebe Speedway (Beebe, AR) and Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, AR).
Last weekend found Jr. Motorsports making the long trek to the state of Texas for a $20,000 to win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas). With 48 cars entered into the event, Billy earned the fourth starting spot for his heat race, and after a brief stint in the third position would slip to a fourth place finish, which still earned him a transfer spot to the 13th starting position for Saturday night's 100 lap feature. Despite looking forward to having a chance at a good finish in the feature on Saturday, his hopes would be quickly dashed as he was spun from behind by on lap 6 and would receive hard contact from another car. The damage retired him from the event to a 25th place finish.
This weekend, April 8th-9th, Billy Moyer Jr. will return to familiar territory as he enters a pair of CCSDS events in Arkansas. A year ago he swept both events for what proved to be a precursor to a breakout season. He hopes to do the same again this year. The weekend opens on Friday night at Beebe Speedway (Beebe, AR) with a $2,000 to win/$300 to start event before moving to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, AR) on Saturday night for a $2,000 to win/$400 to start race.
