A bucket of money would be a good start. All you need is a late model small journal block,a 2.5 crank either stock, lightened. You can get these cranks ground with 2in.rod journals for use with 5.7 rods.Wiseco makes a good piston for the 2.5 -5.7 combination.I would recomend a .580 or larger roller cam set up.Race Engineering,Esslinger,Racer Walsh, are a good place to start researching this engine.

or take your "bucket-o-money" and get the crank offset ground to a Honda 1.88 rod journal size, then get it cryo'ed,get a custom piston and use a 6.125 length connecting rod.

Bo C......... separate subject. Do you have experience modifying 2.0L SOHC Ford cast-iron heads? I.E. bigger valves and a very professional valve job? Gotta road-race team back in VA that is looking to get some serious head work done in a few weeks.

If you want to build a stock 2.5 Use the stock rods, order a new set of OEM pistons for a 2.5 ranger motor.Bolt on a race prepped head,go racing. If you want to run with the big dogs,go with the 5.7 rod combo.
