I have a friend that has one of these engines in a Bobcat. He needs a distributor. Any idea where I can find one of these that is not 400 or 500 dollars. Any help would be appreciated. Does the 1600 overhead cam have the same distributor??? No experience with these two engines.

The Ford Kent motor was used as the base for the old 1600 Lotus twin cam motor. These were found in the Lotus Elans and also the ford Cortina. I would give Dave Dean Engineering a call. They will know if the distributor is the same as the twin cam motor and they also sell them.

Ya any of the old Cortina's will work as well as the 105E anglia's etc. There was also a front wheel drive piss pot Ford that came out I think in the late 70's or 80's, something like a Fiesta ( can't quite remember) that had a Kent motor in it. They are around. What happened to his old one?

thanks for the help folks. His distributor in this engine is just junk and needs to be replaced or rebuilt. The engine itself is ok, its in a Bobcat.....(not a car) like a frontend loader type of Bobcat
