CARTERSVILLE, GA – A full slate of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events will fill Week 3 competition with 14 races at 13 tracks scheduled in six states. There will be eight races in the West Region and six races in the Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point leader Cliff Williams of Star, MS will be looking for his third straight win this Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS. Other West Region Friday night events are scheduled for Malden Speedway in Malden, MO and Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR.

Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR and Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR will both be in action on Saturday night for NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition. The winner at each track over the past two weeks has been 14-year-old Chandler Petty of Austin, AR, who will be going for his third straight West Region victory this weekend.

Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will host its NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region opener this Saturday night. Also in action with West Region competition this Saturday night will be Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region Week 3 action begins with a pair of events this Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region events will be at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region point leader Russ Ogletree of Phenix City, AL will be looking for his third straight win of the season on Saturday night at New Senoia Raceway.

Drivers participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events compete for prize money at each event, and each track will pay out a point fund at the end of the season. Drivers are also competing for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Regional point fund that pays $5,000 to the Champion and pays back through the top ten spots in each Region.

A driver’s Regional point total is made up of their best event point total on a weekly basis, plus bonus points earned by perfect attendance at a single track and participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events. The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series runs through October 2.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical GM Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 150-pound weight break.
