how are some racer's getting 390 to over 400 horses legally? not looking for secrets. just wondering because our engine only has about 345 ponies. it is an all legal engine.

In restricted engines, it is not 1 big thing that makes power but a whole bunch of little things.
You should be about average on power with guys who dont spend a lot of money.
Switching from a 2 barrel to a quadrajet is worth around 20-25 hp usually.
A good carb spacer
lighter weight valves
trick piston rings
Nice set of heads ( not all flow the same even aftermarket with the same #'s )
custom ground cam to match the flow numbers of the heads
There are lifters out there that will make a BIG difference on power and rpm but they are $600 a set also.
The list goes on and on.....

some peoples dynos put out big numbers...they are most likely in the business of building and selling engines. the dyno i use is conservative and an average b mod motor will put out 340-350hp. the really nice one will make 370hp.
