Bub McCool To Make Rare Mississippi Appearances This Weekend

Vicksburg, MS (04/20/11) – Since taking to the national scene early last year, Bub McCool has only had the opportunity to race a handful of times around his home state over the past two years, but he is eagerly preparing to take his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)ens Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle this weekend in a pair of MSCCS events in the Magnolia state.

This weekend, April 22nd-23rd, will be highlighted by a pair of Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) events. On Friday night, April 22nd, Bub will be in action at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park (Hattiesburg, Mississippi) in a $2,000 to win race before moving on to Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday, April 23rd for a $2,500 to win event. For more information, please visit www.HattiesburgMotorsportsPark.com, www.WhynotMotorsportsPark.com, and www.StateSeries.com .

Last weekend Bub entered the 2nd Annual Commonwealth 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, Virginia). Forty-three Super Late Models entered the event, and Bub would qualify seventeenth fastest to lock into the fifth starting spot in his heat race. McCool's hopes to transfer to the feature via his heat would be quickly dashed when a mechanical failure caused him to spin, collecting Jason Feger. The contact from the damage was minimal, but the mechanical failure forced him to retire from the event. Via the heat race issues, Bub would start deep in a b-main event, but would mount a great charge to advance to a third place finish, which was good enough to transfer him to the main event in the 21st starting position. The finale was slated for Saturday night, but rain forced the balance of the program to be postponed until Sunday afternoon. The finale for the 2nd Annual Commonwealth 100 was held on Sunday afternoon. From the drop of the green flag, Bub would battle more mechanical issues on his #57j Super Late Model and the team would tweak on the car all day long, but he would still only manage a 19th place finish at the checkered flag.
