which makes the more noticeable difference, mounting a cast iron aluminum headed motor 1 inch to the right or 1 inch up in a rocket?

1" up would cause some additional roll and 1" to the right would cause it to put slightly more RF weight up there. We run our motor 1" up.

Just move the motor up 1inch if its a wet sump if its a dry sump leave it down all your trying to do is clearance the oil pan wet sump pans are 7inchs deep give or take a half inch most dry sump pans are 6inchs deep that on a SBC now.
Don t move left or right can get weird vibrations if the drive shaft moves to far.out of line left to right.
NOW LETS GET THAT MOTOR IN AND GO RACING
BOOGIE BOOGIE BOOGIE. LETS GO RACING BOYS. LMAO

if you move the motor up an 1" should you move the motor plate up an 1" too? or would leaning the motor back help with the wet sump?

When were were running wet sump motors in our late models we always moved the entire motor up 1".

OK where the motorplater bolts in the frame is where you what to move it up 1inch or more we had a Rayburn up a 1 1/2 then how ever high you decide you buy or make spacers that tall for the frt. Now some of the newer midplates out have two or three sets of holes or you could buy or make new tabs and weld them in the chassis where you want. All depends on the amount of money you want to spend. Just move it up and spaces in the frt you'll. Be good
