Mother Nature Wins Again at Bluegrass Speedway; World of Outlaws Next on April 30
Bardstown, KY-April 23, 2011- Mother Nature continues to be uncooperative with the racers and race fans around this area as heavy rains and storms overnight and more rain forecast at times during the day have forced Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell to cancel the scheduled racing events at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval for Saturday April 23.
The track and grounds were already wet from rains on Friday and the heavy rains overnight simply have saturated the grounds and with the forecast of more possible rain and no sun have left the track no choice but to cancel this evening’s events.
The next event on the Bluegrass Speedway docket is set for Saturday April 30 and will be the 9th Annual My Old Kentucky Home Shootout and will feature the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in a 50 lap, $10,000 to win main event. The Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds will also be in action at this event and will race for $800 to win in their main event. The UMP Sportsman and UMP Street Stocks will not be in action on April 30.
