Track Owners Robert and Richard Harvey along with Track Promoter Gar (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son tried to determine whether they should race this week or not with the devastating tornado that had affect so much of the racing communities around Boyd's Speedway. When racers and fans alike started calling asking them to race so that for at least a little while they could do something that was a part of their normal life. So the decision was made to race. Fans and racers alike came to enjoy something they truly enjoy, but couldn't help but think about those that had been affected. So they donated money to be given to those that were in need, as some racers decided to give all their racing prize money to those less fortunate. So after a somber moment to remember those that had lost their lives and to those with homes totaly destroyed racing got underway. With 2 Heat Races scheduled for each class to determine their starting position for the nights Feature Events. First would bring the B-Hobby's and the Brooks family took the front row sweep as Dallas Brooks and Michael Brooks won respectfully. Next up Crate Late Models as Jason Welshan and Kayne Hickman secure their front row positions for the nights feature. In A-Hobby Jordan Rodabaugh and Blake Armitage showed the way to their victory. The fans were brought to their feet as the Steel Headed Late Model Heat 1 was a barn burner. With Bobby Mayse and Rick Hixson dicing it up side by side from start to finish only to end in a "Photo Finish" with Mayse taking the victory over Hixson. In Heat 2 a couple of cajun veterans in Lamar Scoggins of Cleveland, Tn and Jamie Perry from Ringgold, Ga showed they weren't going to be out done by Race 1. As the two also battled side by side with Perry hugging the outside wall Scoggins taking the low side and Scoggins taking a narrow victory over Perry. The final Heats of the night were the FWD's as Daniel Burnette and Matt Patton showed the way.

The first Feature Event would bring the B-Hobby's to the racing surface first. With a pair of family Brooks leading the way Dallas Brooks would start from the pole and never look back as he took yet another victory followed by #T39 Tim Totherow ( making his first appearance of the year), #2 Mike Chapman, #44 Michael Brooks and #87 Corey Sanders. Next out Crate Late Models with Jason Welshan and Kayne Hickman leading the way, Welshan got the early jump at the start and never looked back. The racing was to determine who would finish behind him. Hickman and Tyler Millwood were battling side by side for second and Craig Burrows and Soddy Daisy's Jerry Coffman battled for fourth. But on this night Welshan showed that he was the man, leading every lap and lapping all the way up to sixth place. Welshan was followed by #A1 Kayne Hickman, #X Tyler Millwood (later DQ'd for tires), #23 Craig Burrows and last weeks winner #72 Robby Mason. As Track Officials inspected the tires of the Crate Late Models top five the A-Hobby's lined up down the frontstretch. Jordan Rodabaugh and Blake Armitage led them to the green flag. Armitage #37 took the lead on lap 1 and led the field all the way to the checkered flag followed by #66 Rodabaugh, #R1 Tony Todd, #J2 Jeff McKenzie and Booger Brooks ( who borrowed family member Dallas Brooks' B-Hobby #45 after mechanical problems parked his ride). Steel Headed Late Models 25 lap Feature was up next. With Bobby Mayse and Lamar Scoggins leading the way to the green flag Scoggins got the jump on lap 1 and took the early lead. Quickly moving to the second place was last weeks winner Jamie Perry from his 4th place starting position. With Scoggins leading the way the field settled down as each driver tried to choose his best line around the 1/3 mile clay oval. A lap 12 caution for #51 Brandon Armitage in turn 1 would slow the field for a restart. Scoggins would continue to lead Perry until lap 18 when Perry would bring his #P4 to the pits with a right front mechanical problem ending his night. Scoggins would go on an take the victory followed by #A19 Rick Hixson, #T6 Todd Hernandez, #16 Riley Hickman and polesitter #22 Bobby Mayse rounding out the top five. In the night's final Feature Event the FWD would see the #K88 take yet another victory over #19 Thomas Gilbert, #1 David Singleton, #3 Daniel Burnette and #51 Richard Hickman.

The evening had come and gone racer had raced fans had watch and cheered for their favorite to do well, but at the end we all were thankful for having the opportunity to still enjoy what so many had taken away from them. The Track wants to Thank all those that gave and urged everyone to remember those that had lost loved ones or to those that were spared their lives but homes destroyed. ....... A week we will never forget.
