TIM STAPLES WINS AND DONATES AT TALLADEGA SHORT TRACK
Eastaboga, AL (April 30, 2011) – Tim Staples picked up the win in Crate Latemodel action at Talladega Short Track on “Racing for A Difference” night at Talladega Short Track.
Fans and drivers brought in items to donate to the Alabama Tornado victims and over three truckloads of items were gathered. Drivers also took their helmets through the grandstands to make up money to feed all the volunteers helping in the O’Hatchee area.
Before the start of the racing night, Staples made the announcement over the PA System that whatever he won he would donate to the tornado fund.
Staples, who started ninth, then raced his way through the field to pick up the win in the twenty-lap feature event. Jimmy Elkins finished second with Ryan King third.
Talladega Short Track would like to thank Tim Staples for his generous offer as well as all fans and drivers who brought in items or donated money to help a hard hit area just 10 minutes away. We would also like to thank all the volunteers last night who helped in the process of organizing the “Racing for A Difference” night.
In other action, Dillon Crims picked up his second straight win in Super Latemodel action over Terry Smith in second and Jason Wilson in third.
Joe Noojin won the twenty-five lap Sportsman feature event over Adam Cummings in second and Bubba Lackey third.
Eddie Brannon won the Modified feature event over Josh Trammell in second and Shannon Dodson third.
Scott Magouirk won the Thundercar feature over Al Reynolds in second and Chris Yarbrough third.
Brian Smith won the Street Stock feature event with Quinton Whooten winning the Hot Shot feature.
Talladega Short Track is in action this Saturday Night May 7th featuring a full racing program in all seven exciting divisions. Gates open at 5PM with Hot Laps at 6:30 and Racing at 7:30.
