on our local 1/5mi track i use a schoenfeld 1 1/2- 1 5/8 on an engine i run up to 7k. on engines i run higher or on bigger tracks i agree with the others and run a power by ace header. maybe old rob will make a 1 1/2-1 5/8 unit for shorter tracks and milder engines.

I ran Old Robs header last year on my old car and really liked it. Now I have a ARCA thru the firewall header both great headers. Just a big price diff!

I don't know if Rob uses the PipeMax software to help with his header construction diameter/lengths, but I HIGHLY recommend use of the software. Go to www.maxracesoftware.com . Larry's software package is cheap, compared to the results you'll get with his calculations/recommended dimensions. And once you've determined the dimensions required, maybe Rob will build to your specifications? For a few $$$ more? In our experience, at least for the 2.0/2.3L SOHC Ford engines, Schoenfeld's headers are too short for the rpm range those engines usually run. Get the header & tailpipe/exhaust lengths correct & you'll 'feel' the difference in the seat of your pants! Been there..... done that....... many times. BUT....... the input to the software must be as good as you can get it. Don't 'lie' to the software! If you lie, you'll experience the ole 'garbage in, garbage out' routine! -Dave-

Probably not a necessary warning to anyone looking at the Old Rob header, but make sure you know how it's constructed before you buy it. I bought one for the 2300 in my S10 and the tube routing would not clear the firewall, specifically the tube that rolls up and back before heading down to the collector. Our rules won't let us modify the firewall to fit, so I had to sell it and go back to the Schoenfeld piece.
