Tri-County has been getting more and more exciting every time they open. Two weeks ago Charlie Parker beat Bobby Panter by a nose in the Limited/Crate Latemodel Race and Danny Ledford battled with Johnny Chastain to take the win and make it 3 wins in row in the Super Latemodel Division.

According to the website:

"Tri-County Race Track Announces Bounty on Super Late Model Driver Danny Ledford!

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) After three consecutive Super Late Model victories to open up the 2011 season at the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina, promoter Ray Cook has announced today that a bounty has been placed on Danny Ledford for the next event on Friday, May 6. Circuit World in Murphy, North Carolina has stepped up to sponsor the Circuit World Bounty on three-time winner Danny Ledford. In addition to the $1,000 top prize for the Super Late Models on May 6, an additional $300 is up for grabs for anyone that dethrones Ledford and his #4 machine!

If Danny Ledford remains undefeated at Tri-County on May 6, an extra $100 will sweeten the pot for the next show on May 20. In the case that Danny goes five-for-five to start the year, he will pocket the $400 Circuit World Bounty instead of one of his competitors. For a driver to be eligible to claim the bounty money on May 6 or May 20, they must win the race and Danny must be running at the end of the event.

Grandstand and pit gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday May 6, with the driver's meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8:00 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $10.00, while Kids ages 6-12 is only $5.00. Pit admission is $22.00 for adults and $10.00 for Kids ages 6-12. Small children under the age of 5 will be admitted into the grandstands and pit area for free. In addition to the Super Late Models, the Limited/Crate Late Model, Interstate Welding Modified Hobby, Street Enduro, and Pony classes will also be in competition at Tri-County."

I wonder if anyone will sneak in to try and take the bounty this week?

Looking forward to Friday night hope to see fans and drivers come out and support Ray Cook and Tri County Racetrack.

I love the bounty deal. It was done a bunch back in the day. I have even seen a cat or two pull off with a "supposed" problem than let a cat collect the bounty. In today's world, whether it would attract any outsiders is debatable especially since it isn't really that much money these days and the purse isn't much to begin with. It sure worked in the past. I hope for great success up there.
