We typically run 1 turn of preload in our pull bar. Will taking the preload out help with forward bite when the track slicks off in the feature?

You only have 1/16" of preload with one turn.... Doubt you can take much out with only one turn of preload. Are you on a spring or biscuit bar?

600-1200 progressive spring.

Thanks

That's your biggest problem. You need to find a nice deep lake and throw that progressive spring in it, that would save you a bunch of head aches. To answer your question No you need a little bit of pre load. If you want some good pull bar info give me a call 573-330-8462. Ask for Erik

We run a 800-1200 spring and run 1-1.5 inches of preload. We have had great luck with that. The real key I know is to make sure you change that spring every 10-15 races. Thats what I know

Run your 600-1200 spring at 1/4" preload measure how much travel you get. 1 1/2" is good for travel. Progressive springs are good. We run the Shaw progressive spring 700/2000 1/2" preload for tacky and back it down to 1/4" preload when it slicks off.

cooper64 is that 1 -1/2 travel surely your not preloading a spring that much?

That's what I was thinking too! I would hate to be the one who had to set preload in that thing.... I get tired just doing the half inch.
