Lee, Ayers, Cross, and Taylor Take Wins at Ponderosa Speedway

Junction City, KY-May 13, 2011- Ponderosa Speedway would be in action on Friday evening and feature event winners would include Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models presented by Bob Allen Motor Mall, J.T. Ayers of New Haven, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto Tires and Super Service Modifieds, Dennis Cross of Wilmore, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman presented by Simple Sign and Decal, and Austin Taylor of Harrodsburg, KY in SkyTower Power Race Engines Open Four Cylinders.

The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models presented by Bob Allen Motor Mall main event would be a two-man slugfest between Joey Daniel and Victor Lee, with Daniel leading the first 19 circuits of the race before Lee would finally grab the race lead exiting turn four on lap 20. Lee would pull away in the final ten laps to score the victory aboard the Jesse Puckett owned Puckett Automotive/Xtreme Style Signs and Graphics sponsored #88 C.J. Rayburn Race Car powered by a Roush-Yates Race Engine. Daniel would take second, while Todd Coffman would slip past Timmy Yeager in the late going to nab third, with John Mulligan completing the top five. In preliminary action, Lee would also be the top qualifier at 13.282 seconds among 10 entries and would also win his heat, while Daniel won the other heat.

In Ken Towery’s Auto Tires and Super Service Modified action, J.T. Ayers would take the race lead at the drop of the green flag and would lead all 20 laps in taking the win and the defending division track champion would drive the Don and Ginger Ayers owned Hagan Construction/After Hours Body Shop/Quick Time Turbo Systems/Buzick Construction/M&M Get-N-Go/Parkway Service Center sponsored #28 Bandit Race Car powered by a Dale Meers Race Engine to victory lane. Ohio native Tyler Jones would take second, followed by Cy Cundiff, Stacey Decker, and Doug Peak. Ayers would also win the heat.

The D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman presented by Simple Sign and Decal feature event would see Dennis Cross dominate the action and lead all 15 laps in taking the win in the seat of his unsponsored #T2 Chevy Monte Carlo machine. Rusty Hulett would finish second, followed by Johnny King in third. Cross would also win the heat.

The SkyTower Power Race Engines Open Four Cylinder main event would see Austin Taylor survive a one-lap restart battle with Brandon Lucas to score his third straight win in the class in his Bennett’s Car Care/Hensley Gun Store/Keith Taylor General Development/Superior Drywall sponsored #5. Lucas would finish, while Taylor would also win the heat.
