Rookie Question

On a 4 bar, what affect does lowering the upper bar at the birdcage have over raising it at the chassis???

Also, what would I do to get the LR to hike up more?? More Bite? more J bar?

Looks to me it would react quicker but less as in index less correct me if im wrong
