Ryan Montgomery, 14 years old out of Fairmont, West Virginia, visited the I-77 Speedway this past Saturday night for the first time in his High Gear Warrior Crate Late Model. Ryan is running the Fastrack series. Since I-77 didn't have a fastrack class, Ryan ended up racing in the Semi Late model class. Ryan ended up grabbing a second place finish in his heat which placed him in the 4th spot for the feature. Despite a few cautions, Ryan had an impressive run. The team struggled through practice and the heat race, but by the end of the night, the Flyin Ryan Team had his crate late model turning on a dime! His car was easy to handle, fast and a winner!

Also, Ryan competed Friday night at Elkins Speedway in the AMRA Modifieds in his Thowin Dirt Modified car. This was Ryan's first time out with his modified. For the first time, Ryan started in the back of his heat and worked his way up to the second spot. This would grab him a third place starting position for the feature. Ryan had another impressive run and ended up finishing in the second spot.

It's not surprising news, but there's been alot of rain cancellations so Ryan hasn't had the opportunity to do much racing in the Fastrack series. However, this coming Sunday, Ryan is headed to Canada to race as part of the Fastrack touring series. So keep your fingers crossed for him! You'll also be able to catch him again on Friday at Elkins Speedway in his modified race car as well.

The Flyin Ryan Montgomery race team would like to say a BIG THANKS to Doug Horton (High Gear Race Shop) - he's been a big help in getting Ryan started this year. Ryan started off this year, with Doug's help, at Eastbay in Florida. He's been able to grab a second place finish at Lernerville a couple weeks ago and is definitely on the move!

Also, a big thanks to the Throwin Dirt Chassis race crew - Kevin and Kenny Rogers. They've been a big help to Ryan in getting his modified car set up and running his car at several local tracks.

Ryan does have a website if you want to follow him - www.flyinryanmontgomery.com. It is being updated and ravamped currently, but within the next couple weeks we hope to have his schedule posted and will be keeping his results updated there reguarly.

Ryan would like to thank his sponsors TJ Contracting, Central Supply, Mountain State Plumbing, High Gear Speed Shop, Long Neck Saloon, Shaffer's Electric, Kustom Kreations and Central Heating and A/C. He would also like to thank his crew and family for their support on Saturday - Shout out to Brian, Eric, Tom, Beau and Tommy!

Also, Ryan would like to thank Slavick for all the warranty work on his body!
