Mike Marlar Scores Top Ten in Lucas Action; Batesville Next
Winfield, Tennessee (05/18/11) – Fresh off a top ten finish in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event at 34 Raceway (Burlington, Iowa), Mike Marlar will take his #36 Wells Motorsports/Rocket/Custom Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle this weekend in the 1st Annual Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas).
It was back to business with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Friday night at 34 Raceway (Burlington, Iowa) in a $10,000 to win race, which saw 37 entries. Mike would race his way into the main event via heat race action, where he finished fourth to secure the 14th starting spot for the 50 lap main. During the duration of the feature, he would advance five spots to register a 9th place finish at the checkered flag. Full results are available at www.LucasDirt.com.
Saturday night's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at LaSalle Speedway (LaSalle, Illinois) has fallen victim to Mother Nature, and has been rescheduled for September 27th. Mike is currently sixth in the latest tour standings.
This weekend, May 18th-21st, Mike and the crew will roll into Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) for the 1st Annual Bad Boy 98, which looks to be a unique event to say the least. The winner of the LOLMDS-sanctioned event will receive $10,000 cash, which is less than second place's $20,000 prize, but the winner will also receive a brand new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro for his efforts. A lucky fan will also win a 2011 Ford Mustang.. The festivities get underway with an Open Practice Session on Thursday night, while Friday's program will be highlighted by time trials and heat race action.
